IKEA Closet Organizer

So I recently moved into my own place and it's small, I mean tiny LOL I don't know how they managed to fit two bedrooms and two baths into 800 square feet but somehow they did. Regardless of size it is an accomplishment and I am proud of myself. If you continue to follow my blog you'll learn that I'm a shopaholic or was LOL I've had to tone it down this past year because with a new apartment comes new responsibilities like RENT and buying furniture etc + you know that 800 square feet didn't come with a walk-in closet!

I had to learn how to squeeze all of my items in this small space, granted I was in one bedroom before with all the same things, it was a bedroom in a house with a garage where I could hide things. I wanted my second room to be a guest room in my new apartment and these rooms are much smaller than the one I was coming from so I had to improvise. One thing that really helped me was this closet organizer. Purchased my closet organizer from one of my favorite stores IKEA for only $6.99.

Please excuse the clutter that is my closet but it's organized clutter! LOL As you may or may not be able to tell, I use my organizer for sunhats, caps, purses and clutches but you can use yours to fit any need you may have. One thing I've learned about living in a small space, (and this goes back to when I lived in a house and practically had a kitchen and office in my bedroom because I didn't want anyone to touch my stuff) go up! Go up when it comes to organization and storing items, you will continue to see this pattern in my blog. Stands, cabinets, and shelves are our friends people! I would highly recommend this IKEA closet organizer if you're a hoarder like me and I hope this post was informative and helpful, until next time, happy organizing! :)

Tip: Here's some advice a friend gave me. If you have separation anxiety with your clothes and shoes like I do, try turning all the clothes in your closet inside out. Every time you wear something, wash it and put it back on the right side. If three months or six months or how ever many months you choose passes you by and you don't wear an item, DONATE IT! Apply this same strategy with clothes that still has the tag on it, write the date on the tag and you'll be surprised..
