Ziploc Vacuum Bags

I recently moved into my first apartment. As I explained in my previous blog about the IKEA closet organizer, my apartment is small, only 800 sq feet so I had to become strategic with my storage. I've been hearing a lot  about these Ziploc Vacuum Bags so I decided to give it a try..

Let me say they are heaven sent! I purchased a pack of three Ziploc Vacuum Bags at Walmart (medium, large, x-large) for about $15. I don't know who told me, the hoarder to get a platform bed (less space to hide things under) but I did so that made storage ten times more difficult. I figured the Ziploc Vacuum Bag was my last hope. I live in Miami so as you can imagine I have a ton of bathing suits so I used the large size bag for my swimwear (displayed in the photo) and the extra large for graphic tees that I don't wear often. The Ziploc Vacuum Bags worked as advertised, after placing your items in the bag zip it up, remove cap, place your vacuum on the opening until all the air is drained from the bag. It slid under my bed with ease.

I recommend using this for items that you do not use often because it can be a hassle having to go in there everyday looking for clothing etc. They can also be used for traveling because it creates more space in your suitcase. So if you're a hoarder like me and are constantly looking for ways to organize your mess, this might be for you!
